The 7.62x51mm NATO Mil-Spec 149 Grain FMJ 20 Rounds began life as the M59 7.62 NATO round in the mid-1950's, loaded with a 150.5 gr FMJ bullet. Further testing and evaluation determined that the optimum weight for the 7.62 NATO round was 147gr, thus the M-80 round was born. The 7.62x51mm NATO Mil-Spec 149 Grain FMJ 20 Rounds is the exact same cartridge that was used in the M-14 and M-60 machine gun, and you can now buy for use in your surplus military style firearms or your favorite sporter rifle. The 7.62x51mm NATO Mil-Spec 149 Grain FMJ 20 Rounds has the metallic core bullet that is attracted to magnets, but is not armor peircing. The 7.62x51mm NATO Mil-Spec 149 Grain FMJ 20 Rounds was and is a great all around FMJ cartridge and function well in a wide variety of firearms.
