These next-generation 30-round polymer magazines incorporate new material technology and innovative manufacturing to improve strength, durability and reliability and exceed military performance specifications. These revolutionary Gen M3 Magpul PMAGs feature a new over-insertion stop for rapid reloads, a paint pen dot matrix for easy labelling, and a more aggressive texture than previous Magpul PMAGs. Gen M3 PMAGs are also compatible with non-Colt-spec rifles like the SCAR Mk 16, the HK 416/MR556A1 and more.

Other features include long-lasting stainless steel spring, four-way anti-tilt follower, tool-free disassembly, and Magpul's unique constant-curve internal geometry that ensures consistent feeding for a magazine whose service life is roughly as long-lasting as the rifle's barrel. The flared floorplate is also slightly slimmer than previous versions, enhanced for double- and triple-magazine pouches.
